The person in this role will be responsible for updating existing analytical models in Microsoft Excel and building new models in Microsoft Excel to help teachers and school leaders improve instruction, sharpen decision-making, and save time.
The senior analyst will be able to build, understand, check, and troubleshoot complex models that translate raw data into graphically appealing, easy-to-read, and insightful analysis (for example taking item level analyses from state exams and translating into colorful, easy-to-read tables and charts). They will seek to improve upon and standardize workflow and processes in building and updating analytical models.
The senior analyst will need to be able to operate independently with minimal supervision, and will occasionally work directly with clients (school leaders and data specialists) on customized data projects. District Public is a small company (currently three employees and partners) and as such the senior analyst will work independently and will be comfortable communicating remotely via phone, email, and other communication channels.

This is a part time position, with seasonal variation, paid at an hourly rate. Approximate hours
August 15 – December 15: 20-30 hours per week
January 15 – July 15: 10-15 hours per week
Wage: $50-75/hour depending on experience
Location: Remote, with occasional in person meetings in New York City locations.
Responsibilities and Duties
The person in this role is responsible for:
• Updating and improving existing complex analytical models using Microsoft Excel
• Building new analytical models
• Error checking models and analyses
• Improving, standardizing and documenting workflows and processes
• Interacting with clients via phone and email
• High level of skill and sophistication in Microsoft Excel
• Experience in building and maintaining complex analytical models
• Flexible and adaptable

• Data visualization and graphic design skills
• Bachelor’s degree
• Two years of experience
The Senior Analyst will report to Luke Davenport and Som Pati, Partners, District Public.
A practice assignment will be given to assess the applicant’s skill level in Microsoft Excel.
